Nuclear Cardiology

Georgetown serves as the Radionuclide Core Laboratory for several research protocols comparing nuclear perfusion imaging for several echocardiographic contrast perfusion agents. Work is also being performed on the functional assessment of LV function from gated SPECT perfusion images.

Clinical services include:

  • Performing radionuclide blood pool scanning and thallium perfusion scanning of the myocardium in conjunction with the Division of Nuclear Medicine.
  • Exercise or pharmacologic thallium and Sestamibi studies.
