Training in Endocrinology is offered to physicians who complete an Internal Medicine Residency Program and are Board eligible in Internal Medicine. The program will accept applicants with J-1 visas.

The Application Process
(When to Apply: December 1-31, 2007)

How to Apply through ERAS

You should apply for the Endocrinology Fellowship Program at Georgetown University Hospital through ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service). ERAS is an internet-based applications process developed by the Association of American Medical Colleges to transmit fellowship applications, letters of recommendation, Program Director letters, medical transcripts and other supporting credentials from applicants, residency programs and medical schools to fellowship program directors using the Internet. For information about the process or to register for ERAS on the web, please go to www.aamc.org/eras. Note: The ERAS Post Office will open for downloading applications on December 1, 2007.

Upon receiving the applications through ERAS, Georgetown will contact candidates about the possibility of an interview. Interviews will be scheduled in February and March, 2008. Approximately 15-20 individuals may be interviewed for 2-3 positions.

The “MATCH”

As a first this year, Endocrinology will participate in the National Resident Matching Program’s Medical Specialties Matching Program (MSMP). This is a computerized venue for matching an applicant’s program preferences with the program directors’ preferences for applicants. For information about the Match or to register on the web to participate in NRMP, please go to www.nrmp.org. The NRMP subspecialty match registration opens January 2, 2008, the rank order list deadline is June 4, 2008, and June 18, 2008 is “Match Day” for the July, 2009 Fellowship class.
