Princy N. Kumar, MD, Division Chief and Fellowship Program Director

Gayle P. Balba, MD, Associate Program Director

You should apply for the Infectious Disease Fellowship Program at Georgetown University Hospital through ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service). ERAS is an internet-based applications process developed by the Association of American Medical Colleges to transmit fellowship applications, letters of recommendation, Program Director letters, medical transcripts and other supporting credentials from applicants, residency programs and medical schools to fellowship program directors using the Internet. For information about the process or to register for ERAS on the web, please go to www.aamc.org/eras. Note: We will begin downloading applications soon after December 1, 2009, and you are encouraged to apply during December, 2009.   Interviews will be scheduled on Mondays from February through April, 2010.

Training in Infectious Diseases is offered to physicians who complete an Internal Medicine Residency Program and are Board-eligible in Internal Medicine.  The program will accept applicants with J-1 visas.

"Matching" with Infectious Diseases

Infectious Diseases participates in the National Resident Matching Program’s Medical Specialties Matching Program (MSMP). This is a computerized venue for matching an applicant’s program preferences with the program directors’ preferences for applicants. For information about the Match or to register on the web to participate in NRMP, please go to www.nrmp.org. The NRMP subspecialty match registration opens January 6, 2010, the rank order list deadline is June 2, 2010, and June 16, 2010 is "Match Day" for the July, 2011 Fellowship class.
