Georgetown University Hospital
Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program

Princy N. Kumar, MD, Division Chief and Fellowship Program Director

Using the ERAS Online Applications Service

Application to the Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program should be made through ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service).  ERAS is an internet-based application process developed by the Association of American Medical Colleges to transmit fellowship applications, letters of recommendation, Program Director letters, medical transcripts and other supporting credentials from applicants, residency programs and medical schools to fellowship program directors via the Internet.  For information about the process or to register for ERAS on the web, please go to http://www.aamc.org/audienceeras.htm.  Interviews will be scheduled on Mondays from January through March, 2008.

Training in Infectious Diseases is offered to physicians who complete an Internal Medicine Residency Program and are Board-eligible in Internal Medicine.

"Matching" with Infectious Diseases

Georgetown participates in the National Residency Match program’s Medical Specialties Matching Program (MSMP) in Infectious Diseases.  This is a computerized venue for matching an applicant’s preferences for fellowship programs with the program directors’ preferences for applicants.  For information about NRMP or to register on the web to participate in NRMP, please go to www.nrmp.org.

Deadlines:

  1. 1. ERAS opens December 1, 2007 and application materials should be submitted in December.

  2. 2. Interviews will be scheduled on Mondays between January and March, 2008.
