Dialysis Program
The inpatient dialysis program has been joint ventured with DaVila, Inc. This has led to the opening of three new dialysis units in the D.C. area. These are all directed by Georgetown faculty. This program will provide ongoing divisional support for academic programs. The end-stage renal disease program for hemodialysis and CAPD are directed by Francisco Llach, MD, FACP and the inpatient hemodialysis and continuous renal transplant programs are directed by Joyce Gonin, MD Renal transplantation at Georgetown has increased from approximately 20 to 60 patients annually under the direction of Lynt Johnson, MD The hemodialysis patient population has grown from 40 to 120 patients. The CAPD patient population has grown to 20 patients. These are anticipated to grow further with the opening of new units.
