Adjacent to the Medical
Center, the main campus crowns the highest point overlooking the
Potomac River, where the boat houses bustle with competitive crew as
well as pleasure boats. The Georgetown canal bike path is a favorite
running or bike trail just minutes from the hospital. Parks are
suprisingly plentiful in Washington, including Rock Creek Park through
the heart of the city, and acres of open grass on the Mall downtown.

Georgetown residents rent in Virginia or Maryland suburbs, readily
accessible to the Medical Center and affiliated hospitals by major
highways. In addition, there are a number of affordable townhouses and

Museums
and Attractions
Located on the Mall
between the Capitol and the Washington Monument, the Smithsonian
museums provide a varied menu of natural, American, and technological
history including the Air and Space Museum. Choices in art museums are
equally impressive within a several block area, featuring the National
Gallery of Art, the Corcoran, and others. Other attractions located
within the District of Columbia include the National Zoo, The National
Archives, and numerousl historical monuments. Admission to most
Washington attractions is free.
Theater
Washington has gained an
impressive cultural reputation in the nation. From Broadway caliber
theater at the National Theater or the Kennedy Center, to the creative
at Arena Stage or Ford's Theater, Washington theater has something to
offer. Shakespeare is regularly presented at the Folger and
occasionally at the Outdoor Pavilion at Wolf Trap.
Concerts
Free concerts abound at
the foot of the Capitol, on the Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center,
and an unforgettable Washington experience is a picnic on the lawn
followed by The National Symphony at Wolf Trap. In addition, there is
an excellent community symphony available in nearly every Washington
suburb.
Sports
For
the sports fan, D.C.
offers something for everyone. Washington is the home of professional
franchises in every major sport, including the Redskins, Wizards,
Capitals, and the 2004 champion DC United. Baseball's return to
D.C. with the Washington Nationals started in 2005. If that's not
enough, nearby Baltimore has the Ravens and Orioles to offer.
