Things I did before Med School:  Did cancer research for 4 years investigating novel hematopoietic cell growth factors.  Volunteered as a Paramedic for 4 years, coached a high school crew team.

Career Interests:  Undecided.

Personal Interests:  Family, friends, the outdoors, traveling, weekends.

I consider home to be: Pleasanton, CA

Undergraduate: UC-Davis

Medical School: Loma Linda School of Medicine

Things I did before Med School:  After graduating from Davis, I took a year off and worked with my dad as a pharmacy technician for a year (the decision between medicine and pharmacy was hard but I think I made the right one!). I taught high school religious education and fostered my desire to teach some day. Just before med school started, my 4 college roommates and I ventured on a 2 month backpacking trip through Europe, stopping in Italy, Malta, France, and London.

Career Interests: Infectious Disease perhaps, otherwise primary care. I would like to do mission work in another country for a few years, but I may have to wait until my husband is finished with his army commitment. Until then, I will likely pursue teaching in some capacity, whether in the classroom or the hospital.

Personal Interests: I love to be outdoors, running and cycling especially but also soccer, softball, swimming. I got into rock climbing in California but haven't found anywhere to go on the East Coast yet. Right now I'm still exploring this new big city and having a great time.

Undergraduate:  George Washington University

Medical School:  University of Minnesota Medical School (Duluth/Minneapolis)

Things I did before Med School:  Biomedical research, sold books to searchers, wandered.

Career Interests:  Primary Care, American Indian health (and health disparities in general), the cardiology of big and little people. I am looking forward to studying the effects of obesity in children, on their young adult life, and on their subsequent lifespan.

Personal Interests:  Books, getting lost in foreign countries, walking in the woods,
odd music.

Things I did before Med School:  I traveled, lived in Colorado and enjoyed skiing. I also did health policy research here in DC. In college I did neuroscience research and enjoyed living in Boulder.

Career Interests:  Primary care and preventive medicine, resident teaching and medical education, mental health in primary care, infectious diseases, oncology, management and prevention of obesity, and stroke.

Personal Interests: Snow skiing, anything outdoors, going out and enjoying DC.

Career interests:  To apply for an allergy and immunology fellowship and continue caring for both children and adults. I would like to be affiliated with an academic center to continue educating residents and medical students.

Personal interests:  Travel, running with my dog Cody, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.
