Trainees are expected to perform a minimum of 30 percutaneous liver biopsies over the course of the 12-month program. They will understand the indications, contraindications, complications, and limitations of biopsy in evaluating native livers and allografts. As per above, fellows will review at least 200 biopsies at pathology conference. In addition to liver biopsy, trainees will be expected to perform esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) and colonoscopy on their patients in the pre and post transplant settings. Over the course of the year, fellows will be expected to participate in simulation training.
