Lippman, MD, MACP, FRCP, and his colleague Gail Bolan, MD, that showed for the first time that the hormone estrogen can drive the growth of breast cancer. It was a pivotal moment in cancer research that has led to life-extending and lifesaving treatments for the thousands of people who develop breast cancer each year.
