Thank you for choosing Georgetown University Hospital’s Division of General Internal Medicine as your primary health care provider! We would like offer you the appropriate resources to meet your needs as efficiently and quickly as possible.
We are not a walk–in clinic for urgent care appointments or prescription refill requests.

Tips:
- Arrive 15 minutes early. If you are more than 15 minutes late, your doctor may not be able to see you.
- If you have been waiting more than 15 minutes past your appointment time, please notify the front desk.
- Bring insurance card, identification and insurance co-pay.
- Bring list of current medications and dosages.
- Bring immunization record– especially important for pediatric patients!

Schedule an appointment
Option 2: One of our scheduling associates will be happy to assist you.
Cancellation
Please allow at least 24 hours to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Repeated late cancellations disrupt the physician / patient relationship and may result in termination from the practice.
Prescription Refills
To expedite the process, please contact your pharmacy directly to coordinate the refill of prescriptions with our office.
Option 3: Patients may also leave a message regarding a prescription or refill. Allow three business days for completion. Please do not walk-in for refills.
Nurse Advice/ Urgent Appointment Line
Option 4: In case of an emergency, please go directly to the emergency department. Wait times vary by call volume. If preferred, patients may leave a voicemail, and the nurse will return the call as soon as possible. Calls received after 4pm will be returned the following business day.
Patient Referrals
Option 5: Choose the number that corresponds with your physician’s name. The assistant will take your information and send the request to your doctor. PLEASE BE SURE TO CALL AT LEAST 48 HRS BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT.
Medical Records
Option 6: Your call will be returned within 24 hours. Authorization forms may be printed from Georgetown’s website and can be faxed to (202) 444-7746.
