Meet Dr. Markoja

I am passionate about Global Health, and the longitudinal Global Health Track at Georgetown was one of the major reasons I was excited to do residency here. I love that the global health curriculum is woven throughout our schedule for two years, and that we also have the opportunity to travel to partner sites abroad. I rotated in Bangkok, Thailand on the Infectious Disease service at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital and Mahidol University Hospital for Tropical Diseases. I feel fortunate to have learned from such astute, well trained clinicians abroad during my residency training.  I saw patients with infections including dengue, MDR-TB, HIV and melioidosis, as well as complex transplant patients.  I loved being able to take in the northern Thai culture (and food!) and to see how culture impacts healthcare.
